Getting to Battambang Cambodia is now easier with the newly paved Highway 5, which connects this city on the river to the capital of Cambodia -Phnom Penh. 

At the moment, traveling over land is the only way to reach Battambang. This can be done by bus, van, taxi, or car. 

The journey from Battambang to Phnom Penh can take 5 to 7 hours. As with any bus or van, the more expensive tickets will get you a seat with air-conditioning, Wi-Fi and softer seating.

Battambang also has a number of temples. A popular temple in the city’s center is Wat Tahm-rai-saw (White Elephant Pagoda). As the name suggests, the temple is known for its impressive white elephant statue that stands erect at its facade. 

Battambang holds a huge festival during the Khmer New Year . It’s a fun time to visit, though anytime you are able to visit Battamband will be an experience worth remembering.
