1. The Langkawi Cable Car (SkyCab), Langkawi Island, Malaysia
Langkawi Island may be known for duty-free shopping and beach hopping, but these are not the only things to do during a visit to the Pearl of Kedah. Only roughly 20 kilometers away from the hotels along the main tourist beach of Pantai Cenang is the Langkawi Cable Car Complex. Simply make your way through the cultural village and enjoy the steep ascent up to the tip of Machincang Mountain. While at the top continue to push your limits and try to cross one of the longest sky bridges in the world. If you enjoy photography set up your tripod and capture the beautiful panoramic view that includes Pantai Tengah, Pantai Cenang, outlying islands and an upper section of the Seven Well’s Waterfalls.
Cost: 30 Malaysian Ringgit (approx. 10 US dollars)

2. Â The Singapore Cable Car to Sentosa Island, Singapore
Â
If you have the money, why not make your trip to Sentosa Island from the city a little more dramatic? The Singapore cable car ride offers stunning views of the famous Singapore skyline in addition to the port area and Sentosa Island. The trip across isn’t very long, so make sure that your camera is ready before your trip begins. As you approach Sentosa Island from the mainland you will find it hard to ignore the massive 37 meter-tall Merlion. The Singapore Cable Car ride is only the first of many attractions on Sentosa Island. Universal Studios Singapore and Siloso Beach are just a few of the multiple attractions on the island.
Cost: 26 Singapore Dollars (approximately 20 US dollars)

3. The Maokong Gondola, Taipei, Taiwan
One of the most pleasant experiences in Taipei is the super cheap Maokong Gondola ride. Since it is actually an extension of the public transport system in Taipei, it could be the best sky ride in South East Asia for the money. The ride from the bottom station (Taipei Zoo) to the uppermost station (Maokong) is approximately 4.3 km in horizontal distance; therefore it is much longer than the cable car rides in Singapore and Langkawi. It might be a wise decision to check out the Taipei Zoo during the same day because of its extremely convenient proximity to the gondola. Make sure your camera is ready to capture the amazing view of Taipei 101 along the way!
Cost: 100 Taiwan New Dollars (approximately 3 US dollars)

Want to find the cheapest rooms in Taipei, Singapore and/or Langkawi?
I would suggest using a large room provider such as www.agoda.com or www.booking.com. Both of these sites offer a wide selection of rooms which are verified by enough guest reviews. Alternatively, if your primary focus is finding the cheapest room, then try this price comparison website. Â I have included links below to save you some time:
My most loved link auto ride was in Hong Kong where you take the link auto from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island to go to the aquarium with the junques underneath in Victoria Harbor…we thought it was exciting. Obviously, it has been such a long time ago now that even Tiger Balm Gardens were still in presence so the link auto may be gone, as well. Thanks!
Loved to read your blog. I would like to suggest you that traffic show most people read blogs on Mondays. So it should encourage blogger to write new write ups over the weekend primarily
Thanks for the smart suggestion Beenu….
My favorite cable car ride was in Hong Kong where you take the cable car from Kowloon to Hong Kong Island to go to the aquarium with the junques below in Victoria Harbor…we thought it was thrilling. Of course, it has been so long ago now that even Tiger Balm Gardens were still in existence so the cable car might be gone, too.
